Expedición Vulkan es una investigación artística en movimiento: 20 volcanes, 6 países de Centroamérica, sin vuelos, en solitario.
La artista argentina Danna Manija recorre esta ruta utilizando el volcán como objeto de estudio y como metáfora. Su estructura, la acumulación silenciosa, la presión subterránea y la erupción eventual, propone una forma de pensar los procesos creativos.
El viaje no documenta paisajes. Estudia desde dentro qué ocurre durante los períodos de acumulación silenciosa, qué hace posible una erupción y cómo se sostiene el movimiento cuando no hay señales visibles de que algo esté ocurriendo.
Expedición Vulkan is an ongoing artistic research project: 20 volcanoes across 6 Central American countries, traveling solo and without taking a single flight.
Argentine artist Danna Manija undertakes this journey using the volcano as both an object of study and a metaphor. Its structure, silent accumulation, subterranean pressure, and eventual eruption, offers a way of thinking about creative processes.
The journey does not document landscapes. Instead, it explores from within what happens during periods of silent accumulation, what makes an eruption possible, and how movement can be sustained when there are no visible signs that anything is happening at all.
